Australians with a disability are twice as likely to be unemployed compared to those who do not have a disability. As COVID-19 pushes Australia’s unemployment rate to a reported 6.9 per cent, WISE Employment’s services’ mission held urgency.
With over 160 offices and 1,000 employees across the country, WISE Employment seeks to empower job seekers regardless of their needs or location – including establishing pop-up recruitment offices, building job websites and fostering in-house development capabilities for better customer support. However, the organisation’s flexibility was limited by its complex IT infrastructure in a mix of in-house data centres located in four different locations, requiring significant labour and resources to manage different environments, said Mick Havill, CIO at WISE Employment

Leveraging Equinix’s digital infrastructure in Melbourne and Telstra’s mobile network, WISE Employment has built an environment that enables its staff to set up and connect offices within two hours and put a person to work within 10 minutes. T
his also equips its employees to support job seekers 24/7 and allows them to devote more time to serving their customers – an important capability as Australia works to rebuild its economy and job market.
To build interconnection further, WISE Employment creates a hybrid cloud environment by privately and securely connecting to Amazon Web Service (AWS) via Equinix Fabric using Telstra mobile network.
