Chemist Warehouse goes digital with NAB and Slyp

Today’s interconnected world makes global crises more likely.

Australian pharmacy, Chemist Warehouse has chosen NAB’s Slyp technology to offer customers’ the option of itemised, digital receipts.

This function is now live across more than 460 stores across Australia with itemised smart receipts instead being delivered directly to customers via the NAB mobile banking app.

More than 120,000 NAB customers have already opted in to receive digital receipts ensuring the bank and Slyp are on track to make digital receipts used by half of all Australian by the middle of next year, said Andrew Irvine group executive for NAB’s Business and Private Bank.

“The explosion of new technology is making many things extinct and traditional paper receipts are no exception,” he said. “Paper receipts are often a pain for both businesses and their customers. Getting digital receipts within the NAB app just makes more sense and will make life a lot easier for our customers. That’s what any new tech should be about.

Chemist Warehouse will use Slyp Smart Receipts to improve environmental footprint and simplify the checkout process for both our customers and our retailers, with intuitive and easily accessible, smart receipts the next, logical step forward in the transformation of the retail experience and move towards a more sustainable in-store approach.

NAB  launched Slyp Smart Receipts via the NAB Mobile app, significantly reducing the need for paper receipts in December 2020. Developed in partnership with Australian retail-fintech Slyp, NAB customers will automatically receive itemised smart receipts from participating retailers delivered into the NAB app when they make a purchase.

Customers can opt-in to the feature within their NAB mobile app. While Slyp technology integrates directly to the merchant point of sale system, allowing near real-time capture of the relevant tax receipt information. The Slyp platform then creates and matches the smart receipt to the customers bank card, sending it directly to the customers banking app within seconds post-payment.
