Mr Toys Toyworld achieves full network uptime

Australian toy retailer achieves remarkable success

Leading toy and hobby specialist retailer, Mr Toys Toyworld, based in Queensland, has successfully overcome network challenges, and achieved remarkable success through a partnership with Iperium and ActivePort. By addressing network outages and ensuring 100 per cent network uptime, the retailer has eliminated customer frustrations and significantly increased sales.

Previously, Mr Toys Toyworld faced network disruptions and outages, resulting in lost sales and dissatisfied customers at the checkout due to poor copper and HFC network conditions. The company’s heavy reliance on internet connectivity for their POS systems and payment gateways necessitated finding a reliable solution.

Mr Toys Toyworld’s IT Manager, Phillip Matthew, highlighted the impact of internet outages on their operations, emphasizing the need for a robust connectivity solution. By leveraging the connectivity solution provided by Iperium and ActivePort, the company achieved 100 per cent uptime across all its retail stores. The solution proved to be cost-effective, easy to install and maintain, and offered excellent network visibility.

To address the increasing demand for cashless payments, Pay Later options, and same-day shipping, Mr Toys Toyworld sought an uninterrupted network connection. With Iperium’s hosted ActivePort SD-WAN combined with their NBN and 4G solution, the retailer established seamless connectivity to their Sydney Equinix Data Centre, ensuring uninterrupted network connectivity throughout their network of stores.

Nathan Brookfield, CEO of Iperium, highlighted how ActivePort’s SD-WAN solution empowered Mr Toys Toyworld by keeping their network connected across all 25 stores, warehouses, and offices. The active failover feature allowed their internal IT team to resolve potential outages without disrupting store operations, resulting in fewer escalations and improved customer satisfaction.

Following a comprehensive evaluation process, ActivePort’s SD-WAN-as-a-Service solution proved to be the most financially sustainable option, simplifying on-site hardware while delivering high resiliency.

Since the implementation of the solution, Mr Toys Toyworld has achieved 100 per cent network uptime in all retail stores, eliminating customer frustrations during checkout and preventing further lost sales. Additionally, the recommended x86 devices from ActivePort proved to be more cost-effective than anticipated, compared to expensive upgrades of existing equipment.

The collaboration between Iperium, ActivePort, and Mr Toys Toyworld has significantly improved network stability and reliability, leading to higher productivity, zero downtime, and increased revenue for the toy retailer. With a network infrastructure capable of supporting their business needs, Mr Toys Toyworld is poised for continued success in delivering exceptional customer experiences.
