Maxis and Microsoft launch digital solutions for businesses in Malaysia


Malaysian telco has launched a bundled fixed line number calling with Microsoft Teams Unified Communications. This will allow voice calls from any place at any time across multiple devices.

In a statement to the media, Maxis said the service will be available to customers in the enterprise, government, and SME space.

The telco has also announced a collaboration with Microsoft (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Microsoft) and will use their respective expertise, technology, and capabilities to create innovative digital solutions for organisations in Malaysia.

Under the agreement organisations will collaborate in three key areas, targeting both commercial enterprises and the public sector.

Maxis’ involvement in IoT and 5G, and Microsoft’s Azure IoT technology to enable industries to build smart utilities and other connected applications. This will help with Malaysia’s plans to become a smart city, in every part of the country.

The partnership will also leverage Microsoft Azure public cloud and Azure Stack services to for Maxis’ cloud services and meet the hybrid cloud needs of businesses in Malaysia.

The telco aims to become a “one-stop-solution provider” for IoT solutions for businesses is a crucial outcome of this collaboration. Businesses will be able to create industrial IoT applications r and leverage data analytics for pressing business problems and market needs.

Maxis will adopt Microsoft’s Modern Workplace solutions, which includes Microsoft Teams. This will give employees the ability to work from anywhere with a network connection, at a time that works for both the employee and the business and across multiple devices.

Paul McManus, chief enterprise business Officer at said the telco will use its internal transformation journey as a demonstration of the application of the modern workplace culture.
