Swiss-owned DKSH has appointed Sam Oh as CIO, responsible for further developing the group-wide IT strategy and accelerating the company’s digital transformation.
Oh will join the company’s Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia office in 2021. He will be responsible for the group-wide IT strategy, driving operational excellence through innovative IT solutions and accelerating DKSH’s digital transformation.
Reporting to CFO, Bernhard Schmitt, Oh will join DKSH in February 2021 and be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He will oversee DKSH’s Corporate Shared Service Centre (CSSC), which comprises the global IT hub and Business Process Operations with around 400 employees.
Oh is an American citizen and a seasoned CIO with 30-years of work experience, of which he has spent 13 years in Asia. He has a track record in IT infrastructure and digital transformation in the retail and technology industries.
Oh has held leading IT positions at Fujitsu in the United States, at Tesco in Thailand and in the United States as well as at Dairy Farm in Hong Kong. He supervised large IT budgets and headed teams of up to 750 employees. Currently, he is senior vice president and head of global IT at GLP in Hong Kong, a leading investment manager and business builder in logistics, real estate, and related technologies.
He replaces Michael Hutab, who has been CIO since 2016. DKSH CEO Stefan Butz, said Hutab decided to pursue his career outside of DKSH.
