Creating a digital bank that adapts itself to every user.
DigiBankASIA is upgrading the digital engagement banking platform solution for its branded names UNObank. Banking software provider, Backbase has been selected, along with partners Mambu and Amazon Web Services (AWS), to deliver a full spectrum of digital financial services for its initial launch in the Philippines.
The project will include digitising and streamlining UNO’s entire customer lifecycle, including onboarding and origination, as well as support the capabilities of next-generation experience management.
Backbase’s solutions give UNO control to develop, maintain and optimise its end-to-end customer experience management. Its widget-based architecture provides the flexibility and agility for UNO to seamlessly orchestrate digital experiences on a centralized platform, across all user touchpoints.
Puneet Gupta, CTO at UNO its vision is to create a digital bank that adapts itself to every user.
“To do this the underlying platform has been designed ground-up using a combination of microservices and serverless architecture that allows itself to organise itself based on the context of the end user,” he said.
The Philippines is expected to have the largest market share migration in the Asia Pacific region according to fintech and digital banking 2025 report co-published with IDC.
As more customers in the Philippines move towards digital-first banks, about 80 per cent of the population are predicted to open new bank accounts with other banks that offer digital services.
