Standard Chartered Bank (the Bank) today announced the appointments of Xie Wen as Global Head, Business Banking and Mohamed Keraine as Global Head, Digital for its Consumer, Private and Business Banking (CPBB) business. Both Xie Wen and Mohamed will report to Judy Hsu, CEO, CPBB.
Xie Wen is currently the Bank’s Co-Head, Client Coverage for Commercial, Corporate & Institutional Banking in China. She spent the last 25 years with the Bank, building her career in retail and wholesale banking and with roles in country, region, and group levels. She was Country Chief Risk Officer for both Singapore and China before going on to head Commercial Banking in China in 2015 where she built a successful and fast-growing business. Since taking on her current role in 2020, Xie Wen has commercialised future growth engines with various digital programmes and Fintech partnerships, including SCeChain in partnership with Linklogis, SCePay and SCeCollect, which significantly enriched the Bank’s inclusive finance agenda and benefited SMEs broadly.
In her new role, which is effective 1 April 2022, Xie Wen will be responsible for further expanding Business Banking in an efficient and sustainable way through partnerships while simplifying how we engage with clients through digital onboarding. She will continue to be based in China for this role.
Mohamed is joining Standard Chartered from ING where he began his career with ING Direct France in 2006. He went on to assume several positions at ING’s head office in Amsterdam, including product manager, innovation program manager and Head of Business Development for retail markets in Europe, Australia, and Asia from 2011 to 2017. In 2018, he was appointed Head of Retail Development Asia where he leveraged his experience from Europe and built extensive industry knowledge in digital banking through launching the first digital bank in the Philippines and leading several strategic initiatives in Southeast Asia and China. Mohamed holds a Master of Science in Strategic Marketing Leadership from the Henley Business School and a master’s degree in social sciences from Paris la Sorbonne university.
In his role as Global Head, Digital, Mohamed will be responsible for delivering a best-in-class digital agenda across CPBB. He will join the Bank on 28 March 2022 and be based in Singapore.
