Fujitsu and Microsoft announce global partnership

Fujitsu has also designated Microsoft as a premier Cloud Partner

Fujitsu Limited and Microsoft Corporation have announced a five-year strategic partnership to expand their collaboration and drive the digital transformation of organizations worldwide. The partnership will involve investment from both companies to enhance Fujitsu’s Uvance business and leverage Microsoft’s cloud and innovative technologies. The goal is to develop sustainable practices and solutions that address societal needs and unlock new business growth opportunities.

As part of the partnership, Fujitsu has designated Microsoft as a premier Cloud Partner. The two companies will jointly develop and bring to market innovative solutions under the Fujitsu Uvance brand, combining Fujitsu’s industry expertise and advanced computing capabilities with Microsoft’s cloud platforms, including Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Viva. The collaboration will involve joint go-to-market activities to deliver solutions that respond to customer needs and accelerate business growth.

The partnership will focus on addressing sustainable and societal challenges in several areas:

  • Sustainable Manufacturing: Fujitsu will leverage Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability to help digitized manufacturing sites visualize environmental risks. By migrating the data lake platform to Microsoft Azure, Fujitsu aims to increase speed and scale for faster analysis and forecasting. This will enable the development of robust supply chains and faster recovery efforts to respond to natural disasters, geopolitical risks, pandemics, and raw materials price fluctuations.
  • Consumer Experience: Fujitsu will develop smart retail solutions to enhance customers’ business operations and offer sustainable and efficient shopping experiences. These solutions will address customer demand for more sustainable retail experiences and prevent food loss.
  • Healthy Living: Using Microsoft cloud technology, Fujitsu will help organizations worldwide secure patient data, improve medical care quality, and optimize medical institution operations. This includes providing a cloud-based platform that links electronic medical records in hospitals to secure patient data, enabling hospitals and healthcare organizations to improve medical care and optimize institutional operations using generative AI technology.
  • Trusted Society: Fujitsu will deliver solutions that ensure sustainability and resilience to global supply chain crises, such as logistics crises, geopolitical risks, weather and natural disasters, and pandemics. This includes tracing product sourcing and movement, detailed demand forecasting, and helping achieve sustainability objectives like CO2 emissions visibility.

To accelerate the offerings, Fujitsu plans to collaborate with Microsoft to provide skilling initiatives and cloud sales and engineering training for 28,000 employees over the next five years in all Fujitsu regions worldwide.

The partnership aims to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation. It combines Fujitsu’s technologies and industry expertise with Microsoft’s cloud platform and advanced AI capabilities to help organizations accelerate business growth and operate more sustainably. The collaboration aligns with Fujitsu’s mission to contribute towards a more sustainable world and drive positive, lasting change for the environment, economies, and society.
