Blundstone Australia looks for group CIO

Australian footwear manufacturer, Blundstone Australia is looking for a group CIO to start immediately with the company.

Reporting to the joint-CEOs, the GCIO will have executive responsibility for the information technology and data analytics strategies and functions of the business, including its administrative policies and processes.

This hands on GCIO will provide strategic and technical leadership and establish themselves as a trusted adviser to the organisation’s key stakeholders across the Group, which includes operations in Australia, New Zealand and the USA, as well as have in-depth knowledge of the current and emerging trends in the IT field.

Wider responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the IT strategic plan principles and goals are entrenched into the organisation, and outcomes achieved.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain IT operating policies, procedures, and standards for the company.
  • Oversee the final stages of installation of the Corporate Business System, Microsoft D365 and ensure that functionality is maintained within the business.
  • Maximise the full potential of Microsoft D365 functionality within the business.
  • Evaluate future IT needs and develop strategies for the improvement of data and process management.
  • Develop information systems that meet design specifications within acceptable time and budget constraints.
  • Manage the performance of a team comprising of Data Analysts, Programming, IT Technicians and Support.
  • Ensure that all IT related activities meet cyber security protection protocols.
  • Assess the need for, and manage the engagement of, professional external services as required.
  • The position directly supervises five staff.

Blundstone is looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated hands on expertise in managing business application software – Experience with Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft suite of products is an advantage
  • Extensive knowledge of business information technology operations and systems, as well as an awareness of emerging information technology developments
  • Computer programming using both high and low development tools
  • Experience in policy and strategy development
  • Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills
  • Analytical and program design skills to integrate diverse data sources and identify key issues and options for presentation purposes
  • Team leadership and people management skills

This role will be based out of Blundstone’s corporate head office in Hobart, Tasmania and will need to start immediately, with relocation fees to be paid for, with the right candidate.
