ANZ Bank hires divisional CIO

Reporting to ANZ group executive, technology, Gerard Florian.

ANZ has announced the appointment of Paul White as Divisional Chief Information Officer for the Australia business.

Reporting to ANZ Group Executive, Technology, Gerard Florian, White will be responsible for setting and implementing the overarching technology vision and strategy for ANZ’s Australia business, including ANZX.

Currently as the Head of Wealth, White has been responsible for Wealth Technology, Operations, Customer Resolution and finalising the divestment of ANZ’s former life insurance, superannuation and third-party advice businesses to Zurich and IOOF.

Prior to joining ANZ in 2014, White held roles at HSBC in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, designing and engineering global platforms and leading large-scale transformation projects.

Commenting on White’s appointed Florian said he is a great fit for this newly-created role with a strong technology background and solid focus on delivering for customers.

“He has a strong technology background as well as a solid delivery focus and track record in leading teams through change, creating the conditions to enable high performance and building strong partnerships and stakeholder relationships,” said Florian.

“I look forward to working with Paul and seeing him take on this significant role that is instrumental for ANZ’s continued success.”

In his previous role as head of wealth at ANZ, White was responsible for “technology, operations, customer resolution and the separation of wealth from ANZ. Member of the Group Technology Executive. Leading execution of ANZ Group technology strategy.

On his LinkedIn bio White wrote that he is, a “delivery-focused leader with extensive international financial services experience across technology, operations and large-scale transformation. Proven track-record of leading teams through change, creating the conditions to enable high performance, building strong partnerships, developing/ executing strategy and delivering innovative solutions.
